Welcome to Petoskey, Michigan! This lakeside community is located on Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan and is the largest settlement of the communities in the Petoskey Area. The namesake state stone “Petoskey Stones” are found along the shores of the beaches and fun small treasures to find. The signature red clock tower in Bayfront Park and the Beacon at the end of the Petoskey Breakwall are major landmarks that make up the city of Petoskey. Natural landmarks and resources like the Little Traverse Wheelway, Petoskey Winter Sports Park, Petoskey State Park, Bear River Valley Recreation Area, and more.

Within Downtown Petoskey, there is a Common Area where visitors can consume alcoholic beverages that have been purchased from specific downtown businesses. The hope of this area is that it will add to the experience and contribute to a relaxing visit. The businesses that have received a Social District permit issued by the State of Michigan are as follows:

Under State law, alcohol brought into the District outlined here or purchased at a business outside the listed/permitted businesses may not be consumed in the Commons Area. Beverages sold to be consumed in the Social District’s Common Area are permitted between Noon and 9 PM daily.

Bayfront Park

The waterfront area in Petoskey is referred to as Bayfront Park and spans over 25 acres.

Petoskey State Park

One of the most popular beaches in the area, Petoskey State Park is home to a mile-long sandy beach along Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay.

Little Traverse History Museum

The museum hosts several historical collections, great way to learn about the history of the area.

The Petoskey Area is home to some of the best beaches to search for Petoskey Stones. Try your luck on your visit!

Crooked Tree Arts Center’s Charlotte Ross Lee Concerts in the Park are held in Pennsylvania Park in Downtown Petoskey from12 p.m. – 1 p.m. each Wednesday and Friday throughout the summer.
