Spring
Petoskey Area in Spring is a season of transition and goes from late March until early June. March/April can see highs in the low 50s (Fahrenheit) on a sunny day whereas May/June will start to see highs in the high 60s and low 70s. This season gives visitors the chance to soak up the last of skiing and snowboarding in March, go for that first breezy hike or bike once the snow melts in March/April, explore America’s first Maple Winery in their “tapping season”, and plan a trip for Boyne City’s National Morel Mushroom Festival in May. Spring is also the ideal time to go Petoskey Stone Hunting in the area – such a unique treasure to find along Lake Michigan beach. After the snow and ice melt on the shores of Lake Michigan, visitors can see what has been stirred up by Lake Michigan. It’s also a great excuse to dust off those clubs and take your first swings on your favorite golf course.
