Portage Trail
The Portage Trail is located in Petoskey State Park in the northern Lower Peninsula. The Portage Trail is a quick, 1-mile, out and back footpath that you will walk through a wooded dune area. The trail provides views of the open dune area, as well as Little Traverse Bay. This trail is good for hiking/walking in the Spring, Summer, and Fall as well as cross-country skiing in the winter months.
The trailhead is located further down from the camper registration office for the Dunes Campground at the Petoskey State Park. This trail also merges with the Old Baldy Trail, so you could do two in one!
