About
Four Historic Sites. One Remarkable Story.
Discover the history of Harbor Springs through four unique destinations, all within an easy walk of downtown. Operated by the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society, the Harbor Springs Historic Corridor connects the people, cultures, and innovations that shaped Northwest Michigan.
Explore the Harbor Springs History Museum, experience the culture and history of the Odawa and Chief Andrew J. Blackbird in his restored home at the Andrew J. Blackbird Museum, discover the engineering genius of Ephraim Shay at the Shay Works Museum, and visit Shay Park, home to a restored Shay locomotive and Aha, Shay’s rare all-steel yacht.
Together, these four sites offer an engaging journey through Native history, local heritage, innovation, and transportation. Spend an hour, or an afternoon, exploring the stories that continue to define Harbor Springs.
