Join Petoskey Audubon for our April 11 program is “Bird Migration and Vagrancy – Part 1: How Birds Orient and Navigate.”
Bird migration is a phenomenon as mysterious as it is fascinating. How can a tiny bird, born only a few weeks before and without guidance, fly thousands of miles to a new location and arrive accurately?
In this presentation, PRAS Vice President & Program Coordinator, Darrell Lawson will explore this question and see what the latest science has to offer. This will be the first part of a two-presentation series on bird migration and vagrancy.
The program begins at 7 pm and is free and open to the public. It takes place in the conference room at Northern Lights Recreation, 8865 Harbor Petoskey Rd. (M-119), Harbor Springs.
PRAS is a chapter of Michigan Audubon and has members from Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. PRAS is dedicated to creating greater awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the inter-relatedness of all Michigan’s wild places and wildlife and the need for stewardship, with emphasis on our local region.
