Boyne City/Boyne Falls
Boyne City is nestled along Lake Charlevoix, which has been honored by the readers of USA Today as one of the Best Lakes in America. Just south of Petoskey, Boyne City is a unique city with its downtown offerings, you’re never more than a few minutes from the water and all it offers.
Boyne City is the place where Life Meets Lake®. From a leisurely afternoon on the Boyne River to watching a sailboat catch a summer breeze from Veterans Park, anything having to do with fun on the water is found in and around Boyne City.
Downtown Boyne City is where to go for great dining, a craft cocktail from Muskrat Distilling, and a stroll. The list of choices is long, the quality excellent and the opportunities to enjoy yourself are immense.
Boyne City is also home to wonderful street music in the summer months during an event called Stroll the Streets – every Friday. Recognized by the state as Michigan’s “Premier Main Street”, Boyne City has a focus on keeping history alive, hosting outstanding events, and having so much to offer. Boyne Falls is just 11 minutes southeast of Boyne City and is named after the falls on the nearby Boyne River. It is also home to Boyne Mountain Resort, a hub of fun, adventure, golf, and good times! Boyne Falls also hosts an annual Polish Festival in August each year where visitors can enjoy a polka tent, live music, youth day, a parade, and mud runs.
Social District – Downtown Boyne City
Downtown Boyne City has what is called a “Social District” or a defined area within its downtown where visitors can consume alcoholic beverages purchased from permitted establishments.
Participating establishments may sell alcoholic beverages for consumption within the defined Social District between the hours of noon and 10 PM. All purchases must be in logoed, non-glass cups, with the appropriate Social District label.
