Visit the former home of Andrew J. Blackbird (Mack-e-te-be-nessy), one of Northern Michigan’s most influential Odawa leaders, author, educator, interpreter, and advocate.

Located inside Blackbird’s restored historic home, the museum explores his remarkable life and the enduring history and culture of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. Through exhibits, artifacts, and stories, visitors gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous history, diplomacy, language, and community in Northern Michigan.

The museum provides an important perspective on Harbor Springs history by sharing the region’s story through the voices and experiences of its first inhabitants.
