December is here and anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast is chomping at the bit, excited and ready to get out and get going. This year, we saw record-breaking opening dates at Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands – the earliest the lifts have been spinning in more than 20 years!

Thermometer readings are dropping again, and even though those downstate and out of state may not see snow on the ground any time soon, we should be skiing and riding in Boyne Falls and Harbor Springs again this weekend.

Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands and Nub’s Nob have all been fired up to get their snow guns blasting again. Now that daytime and overnight temperatures should stay below the snowmaking mark, the three resorts combined will be able to offer a 700-gun salute to ensure great skiing and boarding.

Get your skis waxed and your boards tuned.  It’s snow time in the Petoskey Area.
