Summer Fishing in Petoskey Area

Summer fishing in the Petoskey Area is a great time to enjoy an early morning fishing charter or spend time along a river or along the side of a lake. Whether you’re fishing for trout, salmon, bass, and steelhead on Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay on a fishing charter or one of the inland lakes or rivers in the area. There are tons of options for fishing!

Summer is by far the most pleasant time to fish in the Petoskey Area, with warm temperatures and the longest hours of daylight. From the tail-end of May to early September you can expect average high temperatures range from high 60s to high 70s, the area will occasionally have low 80s.

Fishing Charters on Little Traverse Bay

Summer is a great time in the Petoskey Area to book a fishing charter out of Bay Harbor or Harbor Springs. It’s an all-day endeavor but well worth it with great memories that will last a lifetime and, in some cases, a fresh-caught fish to enjoy the fruits of your labor! Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan is a great place to catch Lake Trout, Salmon, Steelhead, and more.

Flyfishing Guide Services

Even if you have been flyfishing before, a guide service is a great chance to get acclimated to the local waters of the Petoskey Area. The Boyne, Jordan, Sturgeon, and Maple Rivers all provide a habitat for flyfishing.
