Great day to ski!For many in Michigan, Spring Break means long trips to warmer climates – and probably some long waits in line depending on where you may be going. This is then followed by what may seem like an even longer drive or flight back home.

Those looking to escape the humdrum of everyday life, but not wanting to join the caravan of families heading south, do have an option – Spring Break Northern Michigan Style!

If you’ve never spent Spring Break skiing, this is the year to do it. Nub’s Nob and Boyne Mountain are still touting over 75 inches of base and guests are loving it! Local lodging establishments have teamed up with both ski facilities to bring you some truly fantastic deals.

Fat bikes can travel across snow and sand.Boyne Mountain isn’t just for skiing, either. Avalanche Bay, Michigan’s largest indoor waterpark, located at Boyne Mountain, is waiting to provide hours of weather-proof laughter, including the super cool, new, Big Couloir. This waterslide with a 10 degree drop isn’t for the faint of heart. And the ziplines provide tons of fun for everyone in the family! Both of these exciting options are open to guests of the resort and non-guests, too.

Nearby, Avalanche Mountain Preserve, in Boyne City, gives families the chance to burn off steam – climb to the top and enjoy spectacular views worthy of the trek or jump on the latest craze – fat bikes – and see how you do.

When you need to chill out a bit, shopping in Petoskey with its historic Gaslight District, downtown Boyne City, and Harbor Springs with the Village at Bay Harbor, are there to assuage the browser’s needs. You’ll also find a 6-screen movie theater, arcades and bowling in the area.

And, of course, one of the most important parts of Spring Break is simply spending time together. Gather ’round the table at one of several restaurants, pubs and diners waiting to tempt you with great service and fantastic food.

Dining-Header-300x107This year, why not keep the ride shorter, the lines less time consuming and the Spring Breakers just as happy? Point your group toward the Petoskey Area! We are happy to welcome you to northern Michigan.
