While we didn’t get the white Christmas we were dreaming of here in northern Michigan, once the flood gates opened, 51+ inches fell in less than three weeks and the hills started hopping. Conditions now are still terrific and all indications are pointing towards continued bliss for skiers and boarders at Boyne Highlands, Boyne Mountain and Nub’s Nob.
There is still plenty of time to get your turns in in March – and plenty of reasons to head to the Petoskey Area besides the fresh air and stellar grooming.
March 4 – 5: Pull out your vintage gear for a celebration of a bygone era at Retro Weekend at Boyne Highlands.
March 4 – 13: Harbor Springs Restaurant Week will lead you and your taste buds on a culinary odyssey of epic proportions.
March 11-13: Kids rule Boyne Mountain during Kids’ Festival Weekend, three days filled with activities just for them.
March 12: Raise your stein to craft beers and entertainment on tap at Boyne Highlands’ Brew-Ski Festival.
March 12: Share in the 53-year tradition that is the Nub’s Nob Open.
March 13-20: Boyne City celebrates its culture with food, music and fun during Irish Heritage Week.
March 18 – 20: Carnival Weekend is nothing short of a major holiday for the grown-up crowds at Boyne Mountain.
March 18 – 19: Live bands and wild costumes equal Krazy Daze in Harbor Springs at Boyne Highlands.
March 19: You are invited to walk, jog or run at the Barrel Back 5K Fun Run/Walk in Walloon Lake.
March 19: It’s Mardi Gras at Nub’s Nob with fun and games that are fun for the whole family.
March 20th ‘til the ski season’s over: These Spring Ski Specials are way too good to pass up. You know you want to have one more chance to ski/board your favorite run alongside your best buddy or favorite kids. Check out the deals and find terrific Spring Ski Specials in Petoskey, Bay Harbor, Alanson, Harbor Springs or Boyne Falls. Round out the weekend with a family friendly game of laser tag, wine tastings, or a splash at Avalanche Bay for a March getaway you won’t soon forget.
