Waldron Fen Nature Preserve
Waldron Fen is a unique wetland-fen complex, with native grasslands, and forests. This is a great birding location as it is an exceptional wildlife habitat for at least 116 resident and migratory birds. Other wildlife that can be seen here on occasion are deer, beaver, red fox, coyote, otter, mink, and more. The diverse landscape makes a great home for many species.
This preserve was protected in 2001 and fully donated to the Little Traverse Conservancy in 2014.
The Trail:
- Almost 2 mile loop of trail
- Two small ponds
- larger wetland-fen complex
- Easy difficulty through diverse habitats
- Covered picnic table near parking area
