The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant is located in Bay View, Petoskey, a summer resort on the National Historic Register. Established in 1911, the Inn has 38 guest rooms and an on site restaurant serving fine food, beer, wine and cocktails. Our menu features our famous Planked Whitefish, fresh caught locally, Wall eye, Chicken Schnitzel, and a seasonal changing option for vegetarians, to satisfy every diner! Our ribs are famous in summer and we always have whatever is local and fresh for our vegetables. Desserts are Creme brulee with mixed berries (fresh) and whipped cream (we make ourselves), a chocolate dessert with Belgium chocolate also made in house and Murdicks ice cream (our local source). Go to www.1911restaurant.com for our current menu. We have over 100 wines, some regional, local and from all over the world. Petoskey Brewery has an awesome beer we always carry on tap and some other regional beers that are seasonal and delicious.
Hard ciders are popular as well and we encourage guests staying here to visit our wineries cideries and breweries for on site tastings! Innkeeper Mo Rave has been in the wine business for many years and will be happy to help you choose the best pairing for your meal! Fall and Winter hours for the restaurant are Wednesday through Saturday with live guitar on Friday and Saturday. In-season hours are Tuesday through Saturday with live guitar most every night. Reservations on the terrace are highly recommended as it is the place to be for great views, great food, guitar music and an overall romantic atmosphere. The dining room is air conditioned and groups and families are welcome there. Off-season lodging and dining packages are a GREAT value and we have the best destination for weddings and events off-season up to 125.
All rooms have private baths and a blend of vintage furnishings and modern amenities (WiFi) and Cable TV. Suites have 1 King Bed, electric FP, jetted bath/tub or whirlpool tub, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker.
There is no elevator in our historic inn. There are 5 main floor rooms for those that cannot do stairs.
Petoskey’s charming gaslight shopping district is conveniently just a mile away, and many guests will walk the Greenway Rail to Trail to downtown.
The Inn is open to the public and the perfect destination to enjoy everything the area has to offer and a “home away from home” feeling with friendly service and a lodging and dining experience you won’t soon forget!
