Tanton Family Working Forest Reserve
The Tanton Family Working Forest Reserve is serviced by Little Traverse Conservancy and Top of Michigan Mountain Bike Association. Located in Petoskey off of Maxwell road this trail is popular for mountain bikers and hikers alike. Combined this trail has more than 7 miles of trail featuring three loops from Beginner to Expert.
The high point of this reserve, formerly known as Christmas Mountain, is at 1,300 feet. From the top there are views of Little Traverse Bay, Crooked Lake, and Pickerel Lake when the trees have shed their leaves.
