Petoskey’s Downtown Gaslight District

This historic downtown is found in northern Michigan, called the Historic Gaslight Shopping District, has been a shopping area for more than 100 years. Today, this destination is bursting with independent shops, restaurants, boutiques, and galleries. With great views of Little Traverse Bay and a connecting pedestrian tunnel to the city’s Bayfront Park, to walk near the lakeshore this is a great way to spend a day in the area.

Its namesake, ‘Gaslight District’, is named after the streets being lined with historic gas lamps/street lights that have since been converted to electric streetlights in the early 1980s.
