Petoskey State Park – Winter
Two trails grace the Petoskey State Park – The half mile long Petoskey-Old Baldy ( http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/parksandtrails/Details.aspx?id=233&type=SPTR ) and the mile long Petoskey-Portage Trail ( http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/parksandtrails/Details.aspx?id=232&type=SPTR ). The Portage Trail is recommended for easy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. You are also often able to cross-country ski on the closed interior roads at this beautiful state park. A stop at nearby Toski Sands around lunch time is a great place to stop and pick up a cup of delicious, hot soup to warm you.
