Middle Village Park

Middle Village Park is located on the water behind St. Ignatius Mission Church in Good Hart, Michigan. The pathway next to the church will take you to Middle Village Park beach, great for swimming. This pathway is also next to a sacred area, a burial ground, for the Odawa. Please be respectful when accessing this beach.

An old Native American village, Good Hart is nestled just off of the Tunnel of Trees (M-119) from Harbor Springs to Cross Village. Middle village is one of the nine bands that make up the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, the local tribe in Northern Michigan. The Odawa have been living in Middle Village for thousands of years and continue to do so this very day.

There is an observation deck along the pathway between the beach and parking at Lamkin Road.

Fast Facts:

  • Parking lot available
  • Restrooms (Pit Toilet)
  • Only access to the beach is via wooden stairs
  • The sign is visible from the road
