Event Details

Join the Harbor Springs History Museum for a Harbor History Talk in learning about M-119 as a Scenic Heritage Route.

The designation of M-119 in 2003 was a cumulative effort by residents along the roadway, state, township, and county officials as well as local agencies and dedicated partners. Recognizing the unique value of the roadway created the impetus for maintaining the natural, scenic, and cultural character of this Scenic Heritage Route. This presentation will outline the historical steps taken to preserve the Tunnel of Trees and explain the role the Heritage Highway Committee plays in the preservation and protection of the corridor.

Naomi Singer is a Cross Village resident and current member of the Heritage Route committee. Naomi is a retired school administrator and a 40-year resident of M-119.
