We’re launching more satellites into orbit than ever before. But when will humans call another planet home? Is Mars a place we could survive? Beyond the beautiful night sky lies a world of extreme challenges. Join Delta College astronomy professor Aurelian Balan as we explore the grueling physics of making Mars a potential home. We’ll discuss the current state of aerospace technology and the massive engineering leaps required to turn a cold, irradiated desert into a permanent human outpost. We’ll also look at some exciting physics and answer any questions you have. This talk includes fun physics demonstrations and a Q&A for all ages. Future Martian explorers (kids) are especially welcome!
