Ironton Ferry
Not only does the Ironton Ferry save travelers a little drive time, but it’s interesting – so interesting, in fact, that Captain Sam Alexander of the ferry is listed in Ripley’s Believe it or Not! for travelling 15,000 miles while never being more than 1/4 mile from his home over a period of years.
The ferry handles four cars at a time and crosses the south arm of Lake Charlevoix connecting Boyne City and Charlevoix.
Weather permitting, the Iron Ferry operates from late spring to late fall from 6;30am to 10:30pm.
Fare Information as of 2021:
$3.00 per car
No charge for pedestrian
$1.00 per bicycle
Credit cards are not accepted on the ferry.
