Great Lakes Center for the Arts will premiere a new documentary about the great Mishigamaa – MICHIGAN: An American Portrait– a film that celebrates the history and legacy of Michigan. This will be the documentary’s national premiere at the Center on September 22.
Showcasing footage from more than 80 locations around the state, MICHIGAN: An American Portrait highlights Michigan’s cultural diversity, natural beauty, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative approach to business through breathtaking cinematography, compelling commentary, and historical archives. Accompanying the documentary footage is an emotionally evocative score from celebrated composer David Barrett and his Ann Arbor-based team.
General admission includes the film screening and a live performance by composer David Barrett following the film. VIP tickets include the film screening, performance, and an afterglow reception with a champagne toast in which attendees will meet producers David Crouse and Chip Duncan, and David Barrett.
